St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church, located in Pensacola, Florida, is a parish of the Coptic Orthodox Metropolis of the Southern United States, under the spiritual guidance and auspices of His Eminence Metropolitan Youssef. Since its establishment in 2006, St. Athanasius Church has faithfully served her spiritual children and families throughout the Gulf Coast region, extending from Panama City, Florida, in the east to Mobile, Alabama, in the west.
We are a Christian Oriental Orthodox community, firmly rooted in the apostolic faith and teachings of the early Church, established in Alexandria, Egypt, by St. Mark the Apostle in the first century. We strive to preserve and live according to the authentic Orthodox faith, sacred traditions, and spiritual heritage handed down to us by the Holy Apostles and the Church Fathers.
The Holy Scriptures proclaim that God “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). Embracing this divine calling, St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church warmly welcomes all who sincerely seek to know our Lord Jesus Christ, deepen their personal relationship with Him, and discover the beauty, richness, and spiritual treasures of the ancient Coptic Orthodox faith.
Whether you are a lifelong Orthodox Christian, new to the area, or simply seeking to learn more about the apostolic Christian faith, we invite you to join us in worship, prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
Fr. Philip Erian is the priest for St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church. H.G. Bishop Youssef ordained him priest on October 14, 2012.
